About the role:

 

This is a very hands-on technical role taking lead on building data and digital platforms across the business in line with northern digital strategy. Working alongside the IS System Manager in delivering technical solutions and architecture to data management and cloud technologies.

The systems and data architect will be working across a variety of projects, ranging from Analytics to Azure cloud migration to legacy applications interfaces using APIs and cloud integration technologies so flexibility with knowledge across the board is key for this position.

The systems and data architect will work closely with the IS Team and strategic third-party suppliers embedding data, automation, analytics, and AI in the Northern core business , ensuring a high degree of system availability for all user groups across platforms.

 

Requirements:

 

• Cloud migration - planning and implementation of migration on-premises application/data/services to Microsoft Azure or AWS
• Experience as a data architect/analyst
• Provide design leadership balancing business requirements and budgetary constraints against technical opportunities to deliver levels of service acceptable to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with various cross functional teams to define and determine integration requirements.
• Liaise with and supervise consultants / third parties whilst on site to ensure security of systems and liaise with customers, external consultants, suppliers, and outside agencies to ensure an effective service.
• Daily administration of server monitoring systems and back-up infrastructure systems, detecting and raising incidents and changes as required.
• Plan and implement periodic patching and maintenance regimes in conjunction with the System Manager and Systems Team.
• Collate periodic performance data for the server infrastructure.
• Delivers formal On Call to the business on a rota basis.
• Working knowledge on DevOps
• Solid experience in a relevant technology role, such as system, solutions, or Infrastructure Engineer in a virtualized environment.
• Office 365 and Exchange Online
• Active Directory and Certificate Services
• Familiarity with Linux operating system
• Data Modelling, SQL and Data Warehouse and Reporting solutions.
• Working experience of Alteryx , Tableau

About you:

 

Candidates should have attained some of the following qualifications or training.
• Microsoft Azure certified
• Cloud and data security professional
• VMware certified professional.
• Management of storage area networks
• 0365 Administration
• Educated to degree level.
• Strong experience of scripting language e.g., PowerShell & VBS
